Arnet Carl AKERS

AKERS, Arnet Carl - age 78, of Fenton, passed away at his home on January 2, 2014. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 6, 2014 at Fenton United Methodist Church 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton with Rev. Jeremy Peters officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Fenton United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Arnet was born December 16, 1935 in Winding Gulf, West Virginia, the son of Andrew and Corda (Meadows) Akers. He was a graduate of Spanishburg High School and attended Potomac State College. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Arnet retired from GM after 40 years of service. He was the beloved husband of Margie (Compton) Akers; father of Theresa (Pat) Billisitz and Michele (Charles) Packard; loving brother of Vernon (Barbara) Akers and Janet (Greg) Messler; loving grandfather of Aanika (David) Papet, Sean Billisitz, Kieran, Teague, and Kallan Packard.
